Middle Eastern Wedding Traditions

The Middle East contains some of the oldest civilizations on Earth, and so it is little wonder that many of their wedding traditions have been passed down for several centuries.

Gambian President Urged to Halt Anti-Gay Crackdown

Human Rights Watch called on Gambia on Wednesday to halt a crackdown against homosexuals after President Yahya Jammeh ordered their arrest and expulsion from the country, saying he would "cut off" their heads.

In a public letter to Jammeh, the New York-based group called on him to "publicly disavow threats and vilification directed against gays and lesbian people in Gambia".

Special 4th of July Club Nur Night Coming Up

It's almost time to celebrate 4th of July. On Independence Day, we celebrate all that America is and has to offer. And for us gay people, and Middle Easterners, sometimes what America offers has a little more significance that may have had otherwise.

We love that we can live our lives openly and without any threats to our lives. Many of our sisters and brothers around the world don't have that luxury.

So, come out and show your Red, White, Blue and Rainbow colors on July 3rd at Club Nur. We're having a great party with a huge hookah bar to accommodate our growing crowds, a Hena artist will paint designs on your body and a tarrot cards reader may even tell you your future.

All that and the usual hot fun that is Club Nur, every Thursday.
